HOME AIR · BUYING GUIDE
Choosing a Levoit air purifier starts with the size of the room. The compact LV-H128 and the larger Core 300-P have very different air-cleaning capacities, even though both may appear under similar shopping results.
Which Levoit should you consider?
For a bedroom or home office, start with the Core 300-P and compare its room rating with your measurements. Consider the LV-H128 when a compact desktop unit is the priority and its much smaller coverage suits your space.
Core 300-P: more capacity for a room
Levoit lists a clean air delivery rate (CADR) of 143 CFM and coverage of 222 sq ft at 4.8 air changes per hour. It measures 8.7 × 8.7 × 14.2 inches and includes a sleep mode, timer, and filter indicator.
This is the stronger room-cleaning option of these two based on the published specifications. Check for Core 300-P in the selected listing; the Core 300S is a different model. See Levoit’s Core 300-P specifications.
LV-H128: the compact desktop option
The model originally linked in this guide is the LV-H128. Levoit lists a CADR of 30 CFM and coverage of 47 sq ft at 4.8 air changes per hour. At 6.7 × 6.7 × 10.4 inches, it takes up less desk space.
It has three fan speeds and a sleep mode. Its smaller size is useful when space is tight, but the room rating deserves more attention than the footprint. See Levoit’s LV-H128 specifications.
Read the coverage number carefully
Air changes per hour (ACH) describe how often a purifier processes the equivalent of the room’s air volume. Levoit also advertises larger areas at just one air change per hour: 1,066 sq ft for the Core 300-P and 226 sq ft for the LV-H128. Those figures describe slower turnover.
Compare models at the same ACH. Measure your room’s length and width, multiply them for square footage, and check the manufacturer’s sizing assumptions. A 12 × 12 ft room is 144 sq ft; that gives you a concrete starting point when comparing the two ratings.
Check the running costs, too
- Replacement filters: check availability and price for the exact model before buying. LV-H128 filters and Core 300-P filters are different products.
- Maintenance: Levoit suggests replacing its Core 300 series original filter every 6–8 months. Follow the instructions for your unit and operating conditions. Remove the new filter’s plastic packaging before use.
- Placement: plan a spot with the clearances specified in the manual, away from furniture that could obstruct airflow.

Before you choose
Confirm the selected model, pack quantity, included filter, seller, and return terms. Use the current retailer listing for price and availability. For these two options, room size is the deciding factor; a smaller purchase only makes sense if it can serve the space you have.
